Holistic Context

Statement of Purpose

To farm as part of a dynamic and alive landscape driven by a symbiosis of natural process and human action; to sequester carbon, restore hydrology, build soil, enhance biodiversity and produce food.
To experiment with blending beauty and productivity to create an abundance of nutrient rich, diverse foods and other products to sustain a thriving local community which in turn supports an alive and evolving landscape.
To blur the lines between diet, medicine, landscape, health and people and create a
safe, open and inviting space for all to experience 'restoration'.
A place where mosaics of trees, scrub and grassland are free to move.  A landscape that honours and incorporates native ecological roles, including those of people and livestock, to allow the full beneficial potential of the land to be unleashed.

Holistic Goal

  1. Productive, stable and resilient systems that restore the land and people
  2. Diverse and dynamic (food systems, businesses, ecosystems, projects)

  4. Promotion of interdependence and resilience
  5. Allowance of nature to act on its own will

  14. Congruence between values and actions
  15. Positive, exciting, accurate, needed and high quality outputs (information, teaching, products)
